Based in the heart of West Yorkshire, in an established manufacturing facility that produces luxury goods, you will be responsible for the creating, grading and amending patterns from 1st prototype stage through to production, attending fit meetings and supporting production when needed in the development process
Key responsibilities include creating pattern constructions and grading on assorted styles/products in the manufacturing process, creating patterns from sketch or basic block following designer requirements and translating the sketch into a mirrored garment, creating and adjusting basic blocks for new styles and shapes, grading and creating size charts, adjusting patterns following designer and PD comments and attending and contributing to fit meetings. You will operate Lectra and other CAD systems, digitise paper patterns, adding pattern information to prepare them for manufacturing, check and support the sample making process ensuring quality standards and measurements are met. The role will include supporting the garment technicians in creating methods, size charts, trim sheets and all other necessary information required in the making process, creating marker patterns, organising mock trial garments, maintaining the style file database and product library including archives and finding solutions in pattern construction to help improve the manufacturing process.
The role requires a highly motivated Pattern Technician with demonstrated experience of pattern cutting and working within garment construction and manufacturing ideally with rainwear/outerwear. You should have an excellent understanding of the manufacturing process from start to finish, experience of working with fabrics, fusing and accessories and a strong understanding of fit, movement, body proportion and anatomy with a good eye for proportion, attention to detail and quality of garments. Strong communication, written and verbal skills are also required, as is the ability to work well with others, follow instruction and have an excellent attitude to learning and personal development.
