In this role, you will be responsible for aligning the manufacturing resource within the manufacturing plant to the overall business strategy; ensuring your factory achieves budgeted parameters whilst costs and ethics are correctly managed, and production continues to achieve high standards. All H & S standards are met at all times and all factory processes are robust, relevant, fit for purpose and compliant and that the business thrives in a demanding market place with a motivated and well-trained work force. Key to the continued success of the business is preparing manufacturing talent to ensure succession requirements are met.
Applications are invited from hands-on apparel general managers with a track record of achievement in apparel production for USA and European retailers, ideally manufactured under Lean Principles; You will have to independently manage 1500 sewing machines with a work force of 2700 people + this includes HR, Administration, Warehouse (import and export), Production Planning, Industrial Engineering, Production (cutting, sewing, laundry and finishing), QAD and machine and general maintenance with an ultimate goal that the factory achieves a high level of efficiency and customer satisfaction at budgeted costs. Ideally you will have enjoyed a career in Sri Lanka, India or Bangladesh working as a GM for a business respected globally as an ethical and innovative manufacturer for an international customer base.
